Today is show day! We ate breakfast early at the hotel, then drove the car to the Renaissance center next door. The Renaissance is an open air mall and the cars were parked on the sidewalks throughout the facility, with the cars of the different countries grouped together. There were about 30 cars in the British group, and about 108 overall. Judging started at 9:00 am and was over about 11:00. After the vote counting, ribbons were placed on the winning cars about 1:00 pm. The organizers provided lunch to all the participants and after Kathy and I ate lunch and walked back to the car, were surprised to find a ribbon on our car! "Outstanding in class" is like second. "Best in class" is like first, and the MGA parked next to me won that award. We were surprised and happy with that as there are many outstanding cars here. We then walked around and looked at all the different cars. It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of people walking around shopping and viewing cars.

We visited with many of our old friends we've met through our travels, and met new ones. Southern hospitality is alive and well in Mississippi and everyone associated with the show were perfect examples of it. The weather was great, the venue was great, the people were great and, not least, the cars and motorcycles, were great. After the award ceremony, we walked to P. F. Chang's for dinner.
We then walked back to the hotel and saw an unusual see-through trailer in the parking lot next to the hotel. Inside was a 1934 Packard! We found out later they were going to Cruisin' the Coast - our next stop, too!
Congratulations on your win!! I had no idea you were blogging! So glad I found this and can follow your adventures! We miss you guys!!
